Become a TrendSource Field Agent
Tagged Under : earn, jobs, Mystery Shopping, secret shopper, shopping, trendsource
I’m going to try to start updating this blog a little more often. To start with, I’m going to be giving more regualar reviews of some of the money making sites and opportunities out there, starting today with Trendsource.
TrendSource is basically a mystery shopping firm. However, I have found that the majority of thieir assignments tend to be “revealed shops”, meaning that you actually have to reveal your identity to the owner or manager and do a short interview with them.
To become a TrendSource field agent all you need is to live in the United States or Canada and head over to
At the top of the page click “Become a Field Agent”, then read over the application process decide if you want to continue.
From the TrendSource website:
Positives of Being a Field Agent
(1) Get free goods
(2) You get paid to do something you already do
(3) You get to work when you want (i.e., flexible schedule within reason)
(4) You get to see the results of the feedback you provide
(5) Contributes to training development and reward of employee
(6) May be tax benefits with being self-employed
(7) Can have a positive impact on customer service for everybodyNegatives of Being a Field Agent
(1) A good amount of time extended given the pay
(2) A good amount of required reading
(3) Zero tolerance for errors
(4) Store occasionally will try to discredit your score (despite its accuracy)
(5) Amount of work is not consistent
(6) Actual work is not all fun and games; takes effort and responsibility
After you apply to become a Field Agent you will receive periodic emails with job opportunities. You can read them over and choose to apply for the job or ignore them based on the location, pay and type of job. Payment for jobs is usually in the $10-$25 range and will require about 30-60 minutes of your time. TrendSource will sometimes even pay for your gas if you have to drive far.
I’ve been receiving TrendSource emails for some time now and have never found any jobs that I think are absolutely worth my time. Since I work full time, I don’t get a lot of time to drive to different parts of the city and do extra work like this. However, for someone that works from home or doesn’t have a full time job, this could be a great way to earn some extra cash for shopping at store that you would anyway.
Has anyone had any experience with TrendSource or another MysteryShopping company? Let us know in the comments!

This sounds interesting. I will check it out. I have looked at other mystery shopping jobs, but never found one worth my while.

LOL…. I actually had a trendsource person come to my store yesterday. It was called a merchandising audit! LOL Reading about it here sheds a whole new light on the visit!
Thanks

Mystery Shopping can be a lot of fun — lately, however, with the price of gas it’s been less appealing — unless I’m able to coordinate the ’shop’ with something else I have to do anyway.

You know what? I just signed up with this website through your link. The application process took about 20 min. I figure if they actually call me maybe I can get my old lady hooked up so she can stop spending so much of my hard earned loot at walmart.
I just signed up with Trendsource last week and was able to do my first shop right away. The first shop paid $15 and was really easy. My next shop is at an restaurant where I will be allowed $25 for a meal for me and a guest plus a shoppers fee of $7.00. I am very excited to do this one, since we can’t usually afford to go out to eat anymore – now we can go for free
