SwagBucks Tips and Tricks

I’ve been using Swagbucks for a few months now and really love the program. In the last 2 months I have cashed out $60 worth of Amazon Gift Certificates from Swagbucks alone! Since I’ve been using Swagbucks, I believe I’ve found some tips and tricks that can make it easier to win so I figured I would share them with everyone.
Before we get to some of the more advanced tips I’ve been using, lets start with the basics.
Basic Tips
- Use Swagbucks to Vist your Favorite Sites – Instead of going to your bookmarks or typing in the address of your favorite site, why not go through Swagbucks? It takes about 2 seconds longer and will help you win more.
- Don’t Oversearch - Swagbucks will only let you win about 3-4 times a day, and will very rarely let you win twice in the same hour. I would suggest trying to win in the morning, it usually doesn’t take too many searches to win your first Swagbuck, then switching to another paid search program like Homepages Friends for a few hours. Later in the day, you can come back to Swagbucks and will have a better chance of winning. According to the Swagbucks website, only your first 20 searches give you a chance to win, after that you are just wasting your time. While I do feel like I may have won after my 20th search, I do know that constantly searching over and over again will not help you win more.
- You Can Almost Always Win at Least Once a Day - I don’t remember the last time I didn’t win at least one Swagbuck in a day, and it usually happens within the first 5 searches. Additional wins are very possible, but get more and more unlikely as you continue to win. The most I have won in a single day is 4 times.
- Sign Up Your Friends and Family! – This is the easiest way to win lots of Swagbucks. You may only win 1-5 Swagbucks a day by yourself, but with just 5 friends earning on average 2 Swagbucks a day you would earn 360 Swagbucks a month! Just think of what you could do with 50 friends signed up! I am currently earning about 25 Swagbucks a day!
Now on to some more advanced tips!
- Setup up a Firefox keyword or letter for Swagbucks searches.
- Bookmark Your Searches
- Take A Picture With Your Prize
If you aren’t using Firefox, then all I’m going to say is that you should download it now and use it. It really is better than the alternative for the added speed and functionality it offers.
This is a great trick that I’ve been using to make it easier to search when you want to. Start by going to the Swagbucks home page, right clicking on the search box and clicking “Add a Keyword for this Search”.
A new window will open asking for a name and a keyword. In the name field, type “Swagbucks” and in the keyword field just type the letter “s” and click ok.
Now you have keyword function for Swagbucks setup. To use this, all you need to do is click on the address bar and type the keyword “s” then a space then what you want to search for. Ex.
“s Earnontheside”
If you did it right, it should automatically bring up the Swagbucks search results for Earnontheside, and hopefully win you a Swagbuck! If you want to speed things up even further, use the hotkey “Ctrl-L” to quickly jump to the address bar without even using your mouse.
If you have websites that you frequent on a daily or more than daily basis, instead of bookmarking the site, bookmark the search results for the site. The easiest way to do this in Firefox is to just drag the Icon at the left of the address bar to your bookmarks toobar. You can then right click on the bookmark and hit properties to rename it to whatever you want. Try it now, just drag the following link, a Swagbucks search for “Earn On The Side”, into your bookmarks toolbar.

This won’t get you a lot more Swagbucks, but if you email a picture of yourself with a prize that you earned off of Swagbucks to info@prodege.com, they will award you 1 Swagbuck.
Tricks that May or May Not Work
- These are my tips that I “think” may help you win more often. I make no guarantee that they work as I can not verify or test them. However, in my experience they seem to make me win more often.
- Switch Computers or Internet Connections -
- Change Browsers or Clear Your Cookies -
- Sign Out From SwagBucks -
This may reset the time limit on how often you can win.
Again may reset the time limit on how often you can win.
You can still win Swagbucks if you are signed out, you just need to sign in after you are awarded a Swagbuck, again this might possibly reset the time limit on how often you can win.

If not, I’d think you’d miss some good sites in your searches.

Thanks for putting me on to SwagBucks. I’ve really taken some of the stuff you’ve mentioned to heart and fruition. I’ve won a couple of online contests for radio stations thus far.
However, I’ve only been able to get a couple of SwagBucks per day. How do you manage 25?

Linda, Swagbucks gets their results from Google and Ask.com, I do find that Google alone will give you better results, that is why when I need to do some serious searching I still use Google. But for simple searches I use Swagbucks.
Blueworkhorse, I never win more than about 3 by myself, but the great thing about Swagbucks is that when someone you referred wins, you win also. So if 25 people that I have referred win 1 swagbucks each, I win 25. It doesn’t take a lot of referrals for them to start adding up really quickly.
Some useful tips to maximise Swagbucks earnings… although I normally find myself doing too many other things and currently haven’t tried it out yet. Maybe if I get everything organised I can start making a little extra income each month. Thanks.

Swagbucks makes money just like Google does… through advertising. The more people they have using their site, the more they make and can charge for advertising and sponsored results. The difference is that Swagbucks returns a portion to the searchers.

I have been using Swagbucks for about 1 month now and I think I have enough points for a $5 giftcard. The search results are not the same as google because most of your twop results will be “sponsored results.” If you are searching something important then I would advise that you not do it on swagbucks.
