Swagbucks Prize Database

I’m a huge Swagbucks fan. But one of the things I don’t really like about Swagbucks is the huge variation in value of prizes in the Swagstore compared to other prizes and what they are really worth. For example, a $5 Amazon gift card is 45 Swagbucks, but a $10 Barns and Noble gift card is 115 Swagbucks.

In order to help sort which prizes are actually worth buying, I’ve created this table of all the gift cards in the Swagbucks store. I’ve started with gift cards since they are the easiest to value and since that is what most people tend to use their Swagbucks on, although if this becomes popular I will create tables for all the sections within the Swagstore. This table and any others I create will all be in the Swagbucks Prizes section of my Homepage

To value prizes, I decided to use a value of 10 cents per Swagbucks. I think this makes sense since it is an easy number to calculate and since 45 Swagbucks can get you $5 to Amazon (and you can buy almost anything on Amazon.

There are four fields on the table

  1. Prize – The name of the prize.
  2. Swagbucks Cost – Number of Swagbucks required to redeem the prize.
  3. Dollar Value – Actual US dollar value of the prize
  4. Real Cost – Actual cost of the prize using 10 cents per Swagbuck rate
  5. Value – Cost – Shows the value of the prize, higher numbers are a good deal, negative numbers are a bad deal
  6. Notes – Any notes about the prize

If you like this list or you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments. And don’t forget you can sort the list by any field!

Make Some Change with YouData

I’ve said many times before that the things I write about on this site most likely won’t make you rich.  However for people that might need a few extra bucks in between paychecks to help make ends meet, there are a ton of ways to make small chunks of cash on the internet.  If you haven’t checked out my paid surveys page, that is a great place to start!

YouData is another site that is great for earning a few bucks at a time.  YouData is a site that pays you to simply look at advertisements and visit their webpages.  This may sound a lot like those PPC sites (which I can’t stand personally), but there is defintely something different and far less scammy about this site.

First of all, they don’t make you sign up for any special offers.  Second, they actually pay pretty well for just a few minutes of work.  The best part is that they payout every friday via paypal regardless of your account balance.  The only downside is that there is definitely a limited amount that you can earn because you will quickly run out of advertisments to look at.  I typically get about $3-$4 dollars per week for about 5-10 minutes of “work”, and I’ve actually found some pretty cool stores and websites through the site.

The one other thing to note is that as of now I believe YouData is for the United States only (although I could be wrong!), and that they are specifically looking for people living in certain areas in Texas and Mommy Bloggers (so if that is you, you will probably get more ads to look at!).  And also, if you want to get more ads, remember to fill out your user profile so that they can send you better targeted ads.

Try it out!  It’s easy and fun!

Special Swagbucks Code – Only For EarnOnTheSide Readers!

Just as I promised, I have a special code for anyone who hasn’t signed up for Swagbucks yet and wants to get a good start earning lots of great prizes!

Swagbucks is one of my favorite part time money makers.  It is basically just search engine that you can use instead of Yahoo or Google.  The difference is that occasionally throughout the day, you will be awarded with a SWAGBUCK.  You can trade your Swagbucks in for everything from Amazon Gift Certificates (My Favorite – 45 Swagbucks), to autographed merchandise from celelbrities or athletes, or even electronics like a television.

The best part about Swagbucks is their amazing referral program.  You basically earn exactly what your referalls earn for their first 100 Swagbucks.  Just a few active referrals can quickly start to earn you some great prizes!  I’ve earned hundreds of dollars in prizes from Swagbucks!

Basic Tips for Winning SWAGBUCKS

  • Use Swagbucks to Vist your Favorite Sites – Instead of going to your bookmarks or typing in the address of your favorite site, why not go through Swagbucks?  It takes about 2 seconds longer and will help you win more.
  • Don’t Oversearch - Swagbucks will only let you win about 3-4 times a day, and will very rarely let you win twice in the same hour.  According to the Swagbucks website, only your first 20 searches give you a chance to win, after that you are just wasting your time. While I do feel like I may have won after my 20th search, I do know that constantly searching over and over again will not help you win more.
  • You Can Almost Always Win at Least Once a Day - I don’t remember the last time I didn’t win at least one Swagbuck in a day, and it usually happens within the first 5 searches. Additional wins are very possible, but get more and more unlikely as you continue to win. The most I have won in a single day is 4 times.
  • Sign Up Your Friends and Family! – This is the easiest way to win lots of Swagbucks. You may only win 1-5 Swagbucks a day by yourself, but with just 5 friends earning on average 2 Swagbucks a day you would earn 360 Swagbucks a month! Just think of what you could do with 50 friends signed up! I am currently earning about 25 Swagbucks a day!
  • Set Swagbucks as a Default Search Engine or Homepage - The less you have to think about using it the more likely you will win!
